Xiang cruises despite rain
In Osaka, Japan, world record holder Liu Xiang of China coasted to victory in the 110-meter hurdles at the Osaka Grand Prix, his first outdoor race of the season.
Running in the rain and cold at Nagai Stadium, the reigning Olympic gold medalist and world champion was timed in 13.19 seconds.
In other news, Brian Sell, preparing to represent the U.S. in the marathon at the Beijing Olympics, won the 25-kilometer River Bank Run in Grand Rapids, Mich.
